Losing a life partner at any age has a severe impact on well-being. We strive to counteract loneliness, social isolation, and loss of confidence in widows and widowers through our work. We promote social inclusion in the lives of anyone that has experienced bereavement.
We make essential face to face home visits; offering general support with things such as shopping, medical appointments or even just for a friendly chat.
We host activity days for our Widows to interact and chat with each other, we have a many wellbeing centres! We also offer meals out, cinema visits, day trips and more!
Getting our community together to celebrate key dates and special holidays is important for us, as we believe no one should be alone on days of celebration.
As a proportion of our users are elderly, we try and support them in any way we can, and this involves helping and supporting users with dementia.
With the recent pandemic we've had to adapt to comply with government guidelines. We now offer a telephone befriending service; it's led by our volunteers as someone to vent to and a virtual shoulder to cry on. We also host weekly online zoom activity sessions. These consist of Arts and Crafts, Bingo & Quiz night.

Join our community - 'Widows Connect' a Facebook group controlled by some of our Widow clients. It will give you the opportunity to talk to widows in a similar situation to you; share your thoughts, feelings & listen to others. This group is set up to bring widows who are bereaved, lonely or grieving closer together.
