As a befriender you will be matched with one of our service users. We'll match you to one of users based on your skills, personality and location. From here you'll be calling your client once a week or going to visit them for a check up on a 1 to 1 basis. This is extremely important for our service users as many don't get visitors or contact at all.
As a fundraising volunteer you will have the opportunity to get involved in our charity events. Our fundraising events are crucial in order to help raise money for the organisation and ultimately for our widows. One event we cover is bag packing in our local supermarket. You'll be placed at the end of a till with a buddy and be required to pack customers shopping for the day.
As an administration or marketing volunteer you'll be working with us directly in the office to help us complete crucial tasks. This role includes everything from attracting new sponsors to maintaining our brand. Ultimately this role is very flexible, whatever your skill-set; we could use your time!
We focus on improving the lifestyle of widows and widowers, but we are also a charity for younger generations. We are passionate about equality & diversity and will ensure that everyone is included.
As an organisation we want to build your confidence, knowledge and give you valuable work experience as volunteers. We also acknowledge that many of our volunteers live a very hectic student life which is why we try to be as flexible as possible.
