Once you sign up, we'll notify you near the time to when our next fun day is. We'll do this either by email, text or call.
We'll fit a call in before then to have chat and get to know you. This is usually the point where we'll sign you up to a befriender if this another service you are after.
You'll need to confirm you're coming down for a fun day with us so we can get everything booked for you! We'll pick you up with our other widows, you don't need to worry about transport.
We offer meals out in restaurants and café visits of your choice. Whether it be a biscuit and a brew, or a three-course meal, we believe no one should eat alone. This is part of our social inclusion intiative to provide grief support and tackle loneliness for the bereaved.
Want to catch the new box office favourite? Or see one of the classics! Either way, one of our volunteers will be happy to share their popcorn. Another way of connecting the community to be socially inclusive and to tackle loneliness.
Join our other widows in a pampering activity day. We'll either take you to a spa, where you'll get the opportunity to relax and wind down in a hot tub or indulge in comfort and attention with getting your nails done on one of our pampering days.
Here at Widows Empowerment Trust, we do things differently. Our fun days out aren't just defined by meals out or cinema visits, we make it personal. With us, you can see a completely new place or visit somewhere that brings back good memories, we will be there to accompany you.
We're all about making everlasting relationships in the form of friends. We understand that everyone experiences grief differently, but joining our trust our list of widows and volunteers will certainly make you feel welcome.
Did you know that studies show that you enjoy eating more in the company of others? It's also influenced by the social setting. That is why we encourage our users to join in on our planned meals out with our other widows and volunteers to be part of our social inclusion initiative.
No one should be referred to widows befriending service without prior family or client consultation. Please make sure the user has been asked before referral.
